Gregory Mahrer’s first poetry collection, A Provisional Map of the Lost Continent, was selected by John Yau as the winner of the Poets Out Loud Prize and published by Fordham University Press. It was a finalist for the Northern California Book Award and was shortlisted for the Eric Hoffer Award Grand Prize. His next poetry book, What Kind of Vanishing, is forthcoming from Sixteen Rivers Press. Mahrer’s poems have appeared
in Colorado Review, Green Mountains Review, The Indiana Review, The New England Review, and Air/Light, among other publications. His poem “Refrain” received a Pushcart Prize Special Mention. Mahrer divides his time between Northern California and Baja California Sur, where, in collaboration with others, he builds homes that embody a
modern Mexican aesthetic.
Sixteen Rivers Press will publish Mahrer’s next book of poetry in 2027.
